Medical Assistant/Front Desk PRN Position at Well Life ABQ, Albuquerque, NM

POSITION: Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist (PRN)

LOCATION: 8400 Osuna Rd NE, Suite 5C, Albuquerque, NM (Outpatient Clinic)

COMPENSATION: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills

CLINIC HOURS: Monday to Friday; 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Shift flexibility available based on your availability)

Role Summary

As the welcoming face of our clinic, you will perform both receptionist duties and assist in patient care. Your responsibilities will include reception tasks, assisting RNs with infusions, administering nutritional injections, and supporting our clinician with patient needs. 

From scheduling patients, answering phones, drawing blood, to stocking the exam room, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Depending on the day, you might be holding down the front desk checking patients in and out. Other days you might be in the back drawing blood and processing specimens, doing injections, rooming patients and helping out with Infusions.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification or relevant experience
  • Minimum of one year equivalent experience
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health records
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Friendly and engaging personality
  • Reliable transportation and attendance

Job Type: PRN for intermittent clinic coverage.

Salary: $60.00 - $63.00 per hour based on experience

About Us: Well Life ABQ is a Family Practice Clinic with a twist.  Instead of endless insurance claim battles, we charge a monthly membership.  It is simple, but it changes the entire primary care experience for patients and you, the provider.  We like to say "More face time.  Less wait time."   

We also offer nutrient infusions/injections, ketamine infusions and some aesthetics.  The NP evaluates new patients and orders the therapies.  S/he also guides the RN if questions or problems arise.

Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri
  • Core hours: 11:00AM-4:30PM Mon & Wed; 9:00AM-2:00PM Fri
  • Other hours are negotiable

Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner's primary responsibility is to deliver primary healthcare services to patients of all ages.  With longer appointment slots, the clinic pace is relaxed.  Instead of rushing through appointments, you have time to make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services including annual physicals, chronic disease management, and acute illnesses/issues.
  • Oversee nutritional infusions/injections, ketamine infusions and other services provided by our RN, during shift.  Training provided.
  • Manage hormone replacement therapy for members and non-members including hormone pellet placement.  Training provided.
  • Joint injections.  Training provided.
  • Collaborate with all members of the team with the primary goal of outstanding healthcare delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and respond (remotely) to follow up questions and needs after hours, when assigned.  We contract with a 24/7 telemedicine service to manage most acute illnesses.

Qualifications:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in New Mexico
  • Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or equivalent to see all ages.
  • Minimum of one year of experience
  • DEA and state controlled substance license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications or ability to obtain
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and order the following.  Most services are provided by our RNs.
    • Nutritional infusions/injections
    • Weight loss injections (GLP-1 RAs)
    • Ketamine infusions and other services
    • Hormone replacement therapy
    • Aesthetics
  • Insert hormone pellets, when indicated.
  • Joint injections. 
  • Other therapies may be added with consultation and training.
  • Collaborate with all members of the team with the primary goal of outstanding healthcare delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and respond (remotely) to follow up questions and needs after hours, when assigned.  Percent of coverage based on number of average hours worked.

Qualifications:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in New Mexico
  • Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or equivalent to see all ages.
  • Minimum of one year of experience
  • DEA and state controlled substance license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications or ability to obtain
